This one day conference will bring together leading experts in the education sector to look at the key challenges schools face today. The speaker panel includes some of the most well known names in the sector covering key topics from AI in Education to inclusion PLUS this year there will be an added session on scenarios allowing you to share experience with your fellow leaders.

Now in its 4th year this conference has been put together to bring a sector leading event to the North of England at an affordable price. It will be a great way of inspirational learning, together with a rare opportunity to meet with fellow school leaders.

The conference will start with an update on AI and what it now means for the education sector. The session will look at how it is impacting on classroom teaching, parental engagement and general admin within a school setting. 

1025am Building inclusive cultures from the ground up Clemmie Stewart, Deputy Director, United Learning

Clemmie Stewart was the Founding Head of Beech Hall School, Riyadh  - the first inclusive International school in the region and has now returned to the UK shaping strategy at United Learning. This session will look at how SEND can be embedded as a culture, not a bolt on, and how you can bring staff, parents and pupils on this journey with you. Clemmie will share the lessons she learnt from her experience at Beech Hall Riyadh.

1130am Using physical activity in the classroom to improve outcomes Jon Smedley, Teach Active

This session will offer an innovative approach as to how activity can be built into classroom teaching of Maths and English. Research from the University of Loughborough has found that a more active school day leads to improved attainment and significantly happier children, Jon will share his learnings from working with schools across the UK

1330 KEYNOTE Address: Design before data: How better assessment design leads to better measures of learning 

In this thought-provoking keynote, Jon Tait challenges the way schools think about assessment, questioning whether the data we collect truly reflects what pupils have learned. Drawing on research from cognitive science and leading assessment thinkers, he explores the difference between performance and learning and why assessment design matters far more than many realise. Delegates will gain practical insights into creating assessments that are reliable, meaningful, and genuinely useful for improving teaching and learning. The result is a clearer understanding of how better assessment design can lead to better decisions for pupils, teachers, and school leaders.

This session will bring together leaders from small primary schools to large MATs to the Independent Sector to discuss key issues. Based on feedback from previous years there will be an opportunity to share ideas and discuss with your fellow delegates on the latest burning issues for your school.
